Dr. Gregory George
Ultimate Board Prep Director
Dr. George is a board certified anesthesiologist in private practice, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at a midwest anesthesiology residency program. He has been involved with resident education since 2004, receiving multiple teaching awards. After reviewing several of the most popular anesthesiology board preparation courses available, Dr. George felt he could offer a program that more effectively prepared candidates to take and pass their Written and Applied Exams. Several thousand hours of additional writing and preparation later, The Ultimate Board Prep was born, and the program has been a remarkable success. When not perusing anesthetic literature, feverishly writing Written and Applied board questions, or training board candidates, Dr. George enjoys time with his wonderful wife and six children.

Sean Kane
OSCE Director
Dr. Sean Kane completed his B. B. A. at Wichita State University and his B.S. in Biology at Wartburg College. He went on to complete medical school at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and received his residency training at St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Kane is now a practicing, board certified anesthesiologist in a small, private group in Wichita, KS. He enjoys teaching and is excited to have the opportunity to help clients navigate the challenge of achieving board certification.

Dr. Shawn Jackson
Written Preparation Program Co-Director
Dr. Shawn Jackson is board certified in both anesthesiology and internal medicine. He is currently practicing as an anesthesiologist in Lawrence, Kansas. He completed medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and received his anesthesiology residency training at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita.

Dr. Marina Haque
Written Preparation Program Co-Director
Dr. Marina Haque is a general anesthesiologist planning to begin cardiothoracic fellowship at the University of Alabama Birmingham within the upcoming year. Prior to this, she completed all her formal education (BS, MPH, MD) at the University of Michigan and residency at Detroit Medical Center. She has a strong interest in global health and mentorship. She joined UBP having experienced first-hand the difficulty of keeping up with anesthesia education in residency, and so wanted to help make the process easier for others.

Abby George
Office Manager
Abby has worked in customer service since 2022. The Ultimate Board Prep has a wonderful team, and Abby feels blessed to be a part of its mission. In addition to working for UBP, she graduated from Redler Institute of Culinary Arts in 2023 and opened Sweetie Pie Bakery that same year. She also loves to play piano, read classic novels, and watch old movies.

Emily George
Office Assistant
Emily has been working as an office assistant for the Ultimate Board Prep for 6 years. She is currently studying accounting at Wichita State University. When not studying or working, Emily enjoys board games, reading, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Kenneth Brooks
UBP Instructor
Dr. Kenneth Brooks MD, MBA is a board-certified anesthesiologist currently in private practice in Texas. After graduating college at the University of Arizona Cum Laude with high honors, he matriculated to the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson for medical training. Afterwards, he received residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio. While there, he was accepted into the competitive University of Texas graduate program to complete his MBA simultaneously with his residency training. Dr. Brooks is board certificated, having successfully passed the exam on his first attempt. He is eager to help students pass their exam and successfully practice anesthesiology.

Dr. Paul Coleman
UBP Instructor
Dr Coleman is a board-certified anesthesiologist in private practice in Northern California. After graduating from medical school at Oklahoma State College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed residency training at the Medical College of Ohio followed by a regional anesthesia fellowship at Harvard Medical School – Brigham and Women’s Hospital. While originally in an academic medicine practice at St Louis University he initiated the resident oral board program and assisted other attendings with oral board preparation. As a private practitioner he continues in anesthesia education as an Assistant Professor at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Outside of medicine his interests include driving a Formula 3 racecar and piloting bobsleds.

Dr. Neal Al-Attar

Dr. Al-Attar is a board-certified anesthesiologist and cardiothoracic anesthesiologist currently in private practice. After completing medical school at the University of Michigan, he went on to complete his residency training at Beaumont Health Systems in Royal Oak, MI, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. Following residency, Dr. Al-Attar went on to complete a fellowship in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at the University of Southern California — Keck Hospital. His passion for education and anesthesiology led him to create a YouTube channel during residency about the basics of anesthesia. He is a former UBP student and is passionate about providing examiners the skill set and knowledge necessary to pass the exam. In his free time, Dr. Al-Attar likes to play soccer, travel, and spend time with his family.

Dr. Leah Griffioen
UBP Instructor
Dr. Griffioen is a board-certified anesthesiologist in West Michigan. After completing medical school at Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed residency training at McLaren Greater Lansing. She has always felt passionate for medical education, serving to revamp regular lectures as chief resident, eagerly taking medical students or residents into the operating room, and collaborating with colleagues when preparing for board exams. Her experience preparing for and passing boards has inspired her to seek opportunities to help others achieve their aspirations too. Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two sons.

Dr. Rachel Randolph
UBP Instructor
Dr. Randolph is a board certified anesthesiologist working in a private practice in New York City. She completed a fellowship in Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesiology at Montefiore Medical Center and prior to that, served as Chief Resident and completed her residency at the University of Connecticut. Known for her ability to explain complex topics in an effective manner, Dr. Randolph earned a prestigious teaching award during her fellowship. She is also a former UBP student, having used the program to successfully pass her board exams. In her down time, Dr. Randolph enjoys running, baking, and solving puzzles.

Dr. Linda Hong
UBP Instructor
Dr. Linda Hong is an active duty, board-certified anesthesiologist and an associate professor of anesthesiology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Hong completed her undergraduate degree at New York University, a Master’s Degree at Boston University, medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed her residency at San Antonio Military Medical Center. After finishing residency, she practiced at a burn center and is currently practicing at an American hospital in Germany. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, good food, hiking, and spending time with her dog.

Dr. Dharam Persaud-Sharma

Dr. Dharam Persaud Sharma is a board-certified anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain physician with a PhD in biomedical engineering. His dual identity as a physician-engineer gives him a distinctive edge in clinical reasoning, systems thinking, and high-stakes exam performance. He trained at top-tier institutions and served as Chief Fellow, earning a reputation for diagnostic clarity, procedural excellence, and calm leadership under pressure. His research interests include neuromodulation, artificial intelligence in medicine, and systems optimization. Having successfully passed both the ABA written and oral boards, Dr. Sharma now coaches with precision and strategy—helping candidates sharpen clinical reasoning, polish communication, and master structured approaches to complex cases. He is passionate about mentoring the next generation of anesthesiologists to rise with clarity, composure, and confidence. As a faculty member, Dr. Sharma brings a results-driven, high-yield approach rooted in expertise, innovation, and professionalism.

Dr. Timothy Baerg

Dr. Timothy Baerg is a private practice anesthesiologist with specialized expertise in regional and obstetric anesthesia. Passionate about teaching, he regularly mentors residents at two different hospitals. To prepare for his oral boards, he used UBP and found the process both challenging and rewarding. Although the exam was nerve-racking, he felt well equipped to answer all scenarios thoughtfully and thoroughly. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys outdoor activities including backpacking, road biking, and playing pickleball.

Dr Amna Shaikh

Dr. Shaikh a board-certified Anesthesiologist and Clinical Assistant Professor, dedicated to both patient care and medical education. She practices full-time in a busy private practice in Alabama while remaining actively engaged in academics, teaching, and research. She completed her residency at Henryford Hospital in Detroit, MI, where she distinguished herself by earning the prestigious Henryford Star Award. Dr. Shaikh successfully passed the ABA Applied Exam on her first attempt using the Ultimate Board Prep (UBP) Method. As an examiner at UBP, she is passionate about creating a realistic exam environment and sharing the knowledge, strategies, and insights she gained throughout her journey. Committed to helping candidates excel, she strives to equip them with the confidence and skills needed to succeed in the applied exam.

Dr. Benjamin Abney

Dr. Ben Abney is a board-certified anesthesiologist. Following 16 years as an officer in the military, Ben attended medical school at Penn State, where he subsequently completed his residency training. Ben is currently practicing in California, where he is enjoying cycling, and spending time with his wife and teenage children. Having recently taken the board exam, he is eager to help others through this process.

Dr. Hussein Fardous

After completing undergrad and medical school at the University of Michigan, Dr. Fardous completed his residency training at Albany Medical Center in New York where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. As a member of a busy private practice, he provides anesthesia for all types of cases and is involved in medical student education as well as working with residents. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, exercising, spending time with friends and family, and attending EDM concerts and festivals with his wife.

Dr. Lyndsey Grabek

Prior to medical school, Dr. Grabek was an ICU nurse at a large tertiary hospital in the Midwest. She completed medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine and anesthesia residency at Stanford. She has worked both in private practice and academic medicine. She used the UBP method exclusively to study for the Applied Exam and felt very well prepared. Having passed boards recently, she is able to provide a realistic practice exam environment.

Dr. Alex McNally

Dr. Alex McNally completed his B.S. in Molecular Biology at the University of Denver and then received his medical degree from Loma Linda University in southern California. Following medical school, Dr. McNally completed a surgery internship at the University of Colorado, and then completed an anesthesia residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Following the completion of his residency, Dr. McNally has enjoyed practicing in south Georgia. He is currently board certified by the ABA. Dr. McNally enjoys a healthy lifestyle of good food, travel, and exercise. He also enjoys watching films and sports.

Dr. Michael Bleyberg
UBP Instructor
Dr. Bleyberg is a board certified anesthesiologist who started his career by commissioning with the US Army. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed his Anesthesiology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Currently stationed at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, he enjoys teaching others while performing anesthesia for a variety of cases for patients of all ages. Outside of work he enjoys exploring Europe with his family.

Dr. Sanchit Ahuja
UBP Instructor
Dr. Ahuja is a physician-scientist with board certification in Anesthesiology. His medical education and residency training were completed in India. After relocating to the United States, Dr. Ahuja undertook formal fellowship training in Clinical Research at the Outcomes Research Department, Cleveland Clinic. He then completed his anesthesiology training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Additionally, Dr. Ahuja has specialized through fellowship training in both Regional Anesthesia and Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic. He understands the challenges faced during a busy fellowship and enjoys training residents and fellows to prepare for certification exams.

Dr. Margaret O’Donoghue

Dr. Margaret O’Donoghue is a board certified obstetric anesthesiologist at Albany Medical Center. After growing up in Connecticut, she completed her undergraduate at Trinity College and then attended medical school at the Jacobs School of Medicine in Buffalo, NY. She did her residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where she went on to complete an obstetric anesthesia fellowship. She has been working at Albany Medical Center since that time where she has been heavily involved in both resident and medical student education. As a former UBP graduate, she enjoys helping others through the studying process. Outside of work, she spends time with her three kids and husband and loves running, skiing, outdoor concerts and traveling.

Dr Carolyn Thai

Dr. Carolyn Thai is a board certified anesthesiologist currently working in private practice in New York City. She completed her anesthesiology residency at Washington University in St. Louis and fellowship in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she stayed on as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology. She was actively involved in resident and fellowship education and enjoyed helping trainees study for their oral board exams. She strongly believes that (many) mock orals are the best way to succeeding on the actual exam and to becoming a more effective communicator and a better anesthesiologist.

Dr. Jeff Waldman

Dr. Jeff Waldman is a board certified anesthesiologist working in Nashville, TN at both Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the associated Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He currently provides anesthesia for a wide variety of cases, with an emphasis on liver transplantation and major vascular procedures. While a resident at Vanderbilt, he completed additional training in liver transplantation and was Chief Resident. He has extensive experience in simulation training and training residents to pass the oral boards. He currently resides in Brentwood, TN with his wife and three children.

Dr. Laura Mey

Dr. Sokchea Laura Mey is a board certified anesthesiologist in private practice in Houston, Texas. She earned a Masters in Public Health in International and Family Health and completed medical school and residency at the University of Texas HSC in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Chinonye Orizu

Dr. Chinonye Orizu is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Orizu attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine where she earned her medical degree. She went on to complete a general and vascular surgery internship, anesthesiology residency, and pain fellowship. She is now in private practice in the Atlanta area. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, intramural basketball, college football, and teaching.

Dr. Aqeel Kamal

Dr. Kamal grew up in California and attended the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate degree. He completed medical school in South Carolina and graduated from Wake Forest Anesthesia Residency in Winston-Salem, NC. He is a United States Air Force veteran and is currently in private practice in Dallas, TX.
